We don’t build buildings. We build altars.

As we go from 2019 into 2020 I’m sensing the spirit of God in an urgent mode for us to accomplish the vision that he has given us. Many opportunities are presenting themselves in this season. God said to me that every building that we buy, He will fill. God also said to me that we don’t build churches, we build altars. Every location we have in San Diego and in Salt Lake City is a place where heaven meets earth. A place where humans interact with the living God. It’s a place of healing, salvation, deliverance, transformation, and freedom. It’s the place that the earth needs and it’s the place that the devil resists the most.

Right now we’re in the “rounding-third-coming-into-home” phase of our San Marcos location. Unfortunately, being a 30 plus year old building, we have hit a number of financial snags which have caused the costs to greatly increase. However, we’re not deterred because the location of the building being right on the 78 freeway makes it so worth it.

We also have opportunities to plant in downtown San Diego not to mention buildings becoming available in East County, Salt Lake City, and many others. Our Balboa Campus in Kearny Mesa is bursting at the seams, so we are now looking into a second central location. Our vision is 16 campuses around San Diego and then everywhere else. Your generosity and giving helps us to accomplish this! Tithes and offerings pays for the week-in and week-out running of the church. However it’s Vision Builders that helps us take ground. It’s Vision Builders that helps us get buildings that are then turned into Altars of Transformation.

Make A Commitment

With a vision for sixteen campuses, we are always pursuing new buildings as well as updating and expanding current ones to house the thousands of lives being transformed.

We are reaching into homes through video, digital programming, and other media outlets. We also reveal the salvation message through our Christmas and Easter musicals.

Focusing on making a positive impact both locally and globally through Missions and Outreach.

How do I determine how God wants me to participate?

We are asking every person who calls Awaken Church their home church to pray and ask the LORD to lead them by His Holy Spirit and direct them as to which level of commitment they are to engage in. God does not ask us to give everything but he does ask us to give something. We can all sacrifice and give something knowing that we cannot out-give God and “that he is a debtor to no man!”

It’s not equal giving, but equal sacrifice.
2 Chronicles 25:9.

Are my Vision Builders contributions tax-deductible?

Yes, if you are a citizen of the United States, your contributions are 100% tax-deductible. If you have given and live in another country, you will need to consult with your country’s tax code to sort out if your donations are tax-deductible.

How does my faith commitment affect my tithe?

It doesn’t! Faith Commitments are an offering above your normal ten percent. Tithes are allocated for the day-to-day running operations of the church, offerings are gifts over and above our tithes.

How do the funds get allocated?

The funds are spent in accordance with the initiatives of BUILDING, REACHING, and CARING. All our accounts are independently audited annually to ensure compliance with the IRS.

Do you need my details? I wish to remain anonymous.

You may remain anonymous if you wish, and all details of your giving will be kept confidential, however you will not be able to claim tax deductibility for your giving as we will be unable to give you a record of your giving.
