Awaken Church is a church that is fresh, real, and powerful. Our heart is to win souls and make disciples of all nations. Our vision and mission is to impact cities and influence nations towards Jesus Christ. We focus on developing leaders and empowering people to become all that God has purposed and destined for them to be.

Our lead pastors, Jurgen and Leanne Matthesius, moved to San Diego with their family from Sydney, Australia in 2005 to plant a church. From humble beginnings meeting in hotels, schools, and performing arts centers, we are continually growing to fulfill the vision in Ps. Jurgen and Leanne’s hearts to be a multi-campus, multi-generational church seeing lives changed and impacted every week. Right now we have locations in San Diego, Salt Lake City, and now Boise!
